My self-centered life was turned upside down when, as a young teenager, I went on a mission trip.  This would be my very first trip to an orphanage.  It was there, at that dirty little home for unwanted children, that a beautiful little nameless baby would change everything for me.  You can read that very special story here.

Shortly after that trip, I began to read any book I could get my hands on about missions and missionaries.  Recently, a couple of people have asked me if I would recommend any books that helped encouraged me in the area of missions.  So I have compiled a list of a few of my favorite women missionaries (I will make a list of men as well) whose lives resounded of obedient faith and love.

Serving the Lord under the most difficult of circumstances, these precious saints were the trailblazers of modern missions for women.   I truly hope and pray you will be as inspired as I am when you read about these Inspirational Women of Faith.
